Overview:
We are seeking a capable and motivated IT Specialist to join our team based in Port Moresby. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced IT professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in keeping systems running efficiently and securely.
You will play a key role in supporting our clients’ day-to-day technology operations — from infrastructure and networks to end-user support and software systems — ensuring our organisation remains productive and connected.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
- Administer and monitor Windows/Linux server environments, ensuring uptime, performance, and patch compliance
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file shares, and group policy across the organisation
- Provide Level 1–2 helpdesk support to staff — resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues promptly
- Support and troubleshoot business applications, coordinating with vendors where required
- Maintain IT documentation including asset registers, network diagrams, and SOPs
- Assist in IT procurement, setup of new workstations, and onboarding of new users
- Monitor and respond to system alerts, backups, and scheduled maintenance tasks
- Contribute to IT projects and infrastructure improvements as directed
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–6 years of hands-on IT support and administration experience
- Strong working knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN)
- Experience with Windows Server administration
- Relevant certifications preferred: CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA or Microsoft
